Certain industries – including pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, and chemicals – must ensure that their commodities maintain a specific temperature range during the shipping process, whether that lasts hours or days. It’s in these circumstances that thermal packaging and cold chain shipping containers are used to help protect valuable cargo from temperature spikes that would make it worthless upon arrival.
Even if you use refrigerated shipping containers, cold cargo solutions give your products additional temperature protection throughout the shipping process. These insulated shipping supplies also can protect your cargo from radiant heat exposure from the sun and moisture from precipitation when it’s moved between cargo containers. In addition to protecting from hot and cold spikes, thermal packaging solutions reduce the amount of temperature fluctuation your cargo experiences, even with longer shipping times.
QProducts & Services specializes in cold chain shipping supplies and insulated shipping products for industries that ship temperature-sensitive cargo. Our products include:
Our ULD PalletQuilt® covers standard, 10-foot and 20-foot airfreight pallet sizes. Manufactured with exclusive TFormance™ technology, these thermal shipping solutions protect your temperature-sensitive air cargo.
Our PalletQuilt® reflective pallet covers are available in single-use and multiple-use options. They reduce temperature exchange, provide high reflectivity, are water-resistant and provide protection from temperature spikes.
Our Silverskin™ reflective pallet covers reflect radiant heat, insulate against hot and cold temperature spikes and provide additional protection for your temperature-sensitive cargo. They are available in both single-use and multiple-use covers.
The Drum/Tote PalletQuilt® is designed to slip over four drum pallets and tote tanks and comes with tightening straps and BOL windows. It’s designed to be an alternative to refrigerated LTL carriers and comes in different designs and sizes to protect your pallet-quantity, temperature-sensitive freight.
Our Silverskin™ reflective pallet covers reflect radiant heat, insulate against hot and cold temperature spikes and provide additional protection for your temperature-sensitive cargo. They are available in both single-use and multiple-use covers.
Our PalletQuilt® reflective pallet covers are available in single-use and multiple-use options. They reduce temperature exchange, provide high reflectivity, are water-resistant and provide protection from temperature spikes.
This versatile material provides thermal insulation packaging for entire loads or pallets or can be used to line shipping containers. It resists tears and punctures and is available by the roll or in precut pieces for pallets and containers.

Passive thermal protection systems help ensure quality, safety, and efficacy of temperature-sensitive products within a pre-defined range. Prior to any selection and qualification of passive thermal protection systems, both the supply chain and the temperature-sensitive product need to be evaluated.
Low thermal conductivity and high reflectivity are the properties that improve thermal cover performance. For low thermal conductivity, the outer surface is heated by absorption of radiation or by convection or warm air, and also slows the transport of heat inward. For high reflectivity, incoming radiant energy is reflected away and the outer surface is slow to heat up.
Conduction, convection, and radiation are the mechanisms of heating/cooling. Conduction is ground heat, convection is air movement, and radiation is direct sunlight.
